World Angel Investment Summit Tickets
Sep 24 @ 6:00 pm – Sep 27 @ 8:00 pm
World Angel Investment Summit @ Toronto | Ontario | Canada

The Summit will attract over 700 investors, partners and industry leaders from around the world and is the flagship event for the Canadian Angel Investor community.

We will be building on the international focus introduced at the 2017 Summit in Montreal, making this the largest and most international gathering of Angel investors in Canadian history. This will also be the first time that NACO partners with a larger event to ensure our community adds direct and immediate value to the local startup ecosystem.

NACO will be partnering with the Elevate Tech Fest, offering both premium content for our attendees, as well as collaborating with Elevate to run their Financing track and cohost keynote speakers. Consequently, the 2018 World Angel Investment Summit is the culmination of years worth of NACO’s efforts to build Angel communities across the country, and will catalyze a more dynamic early stage capital ecosystem.

Sep 28 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
5 Workplace Policy Areas to Manage Marijuana Risks @ Venn Centre | Moncton | New Brunswick | Canada

The legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada is imminent. Employers are feeling the heat to prepare – even as they continue efforts to manage the impact of increasing medically-authorized marijuana use.  Join Venn and McInnes Cooper Labour & Employment Lawyer Dominique Fontaine,  as, based on recent legal developments, she smokes out the five key policy areas for employers to review and revise, or to create, to manage the workplace risks of marijuana.

Dominique  Fontaine is a bilingual Labour & Employment lawyer. She advises employers daily in offering strategic advice on various legal questions, including the duty to accommodate, human rights, occupational health and safety, terminations and the development or the application of internal policies. She is also experienced in litigation, including wrongful dismissal cases, and has appeared before the New Brunswick Court of Appeal, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Small Claims Court of New Brunswick.   Dominique is a member of the Human Resources Association of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of New Brunswick, and the AJEFNB (Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau-Brunswick).

*This session will be presented in English.

Product Management Training from Pragmatic Marketing

Improve your product management skills with this two-day course

A Proven Framework

The Pragmatic Marketing Framework provides a proven blueprint that is implemented in thousands of companies across the globe in wide-ranging industries. Each course is based on the Pragmatic Marketing framework, which provides a standard language for product teams and a blueprint of key activities required to bring profitable, problem-oriented products to market.

Venn is offering the first two modules of the Pragmatic Marketing training. For a full description of the training, click here.

Foundations: Principles of Pragmatic Marketing

Foundations teaches you why it’s important to be market driven, as well as how to develop that market expertise and share it internally.  This introduction to the Pragmatic Marketing Framework (TM) in this course means your entire organization will soon be “speaking the same language” and working together more effectively.  Foundations is a prerequisite for every other Pragmatic Marketing course.

Focus: Strategic Product Planning

Focus teaches you how to find the opportunities in the market’s problems.  Learn to score potential strategies objectively and identify where the company’s strengths intersect with what the market values.  Then use market data to successfully and credibly sell these strategies internally.

At the end of each module, attendees have the opportunity to earn certification.
Early bird pricing of $1049 + tax is available for the first 25 tickets sold to New Brunswick-based companies. Venn members are eligible for a $200 discount per ticket.  The price of the training will increase to the full rate of $2800 + tax after the first 25 tickets are sold.  Attendees must participate in both days of training.  Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable prior to October 15, 2018.
