Trade shows create incredible opportunities for finding new clients, driving new sales, identifying new partners, or simply learning more about an industry. Trade shows are also a significant investment of your business’ time, money and resources, so you need to have a strategy to ensure success.
Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association (ACADA) and Dr. Jonathan Calof are pleased to host this one-day workshop that will prepare companies for trade show success, helping your business plan more effectively and tackle broad intelligence needs, including sales intelligence needs. Companies will examine an upcoming relevant trade show, learn how to select the right events and how to develop a system for success for every trade show.
This program will be customized based on the companies that register for the program to meet the needs of various sectors and will provide a general overview to various shows.

12:00pm – 12:30pm: Lunch
12:30pm – 3:00pm: Event Intelligence Execution: What to do at the show, roles and responsibilities, observation plans and checklists. Maximizing the technology available at the show.
3:00pm – 3:30pm: Post Show: Making the most of your investment, what to do with everything you have learned
3:30pm – 4:30pm: Next steps. Questions.
Lunch and light refreshments will be included. Registration is limited to 30 participants per session.
About the Facilitator: Dr. Jonathan Calof
Dr. Calof is recognized as one of the leaders in intelligence and foresight. A full professor of International Business and Strategy at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Calof combines research and consulting in competitive intelligence, technical foresight and business analytics to help organizations develop key insights on their competitive environment.
Jonathan has given over 1000 speeches, seminars and keynote addresses around the world on intelligence, foresight and analytics and has helped several companies and government agencies around the world enhance their capabilities on these areas. In recognition of his contribution to making fact based decision making a reality, Jonathan has been given several honours including Frost and Sullivan’s life time achievement award in competitive intelligence; Fellow award from the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals; Honorary Professor at Yunnan Normal University in China; Appointment to the international advisory board for the Russian Foresight Committee of HSE; Honorary member of the Russian Society of Competitive Intelligence Professional; Board of advisors for the Centre en Intelligence Economique et Management Stratégique(CIE’MS/Center for Competitive Intelligence and Strategic Management in Morocco and Extraordinary Professor at North-West University in South Africa. He was also recently awarded SCIP’s member of the year award for his influence on the practice and the field of competitive intelligence.
